GARNI II
本プロジェクトでは「素材の態度」に焦点を当てました。特別な仕上げや高価な素材に頼るのではなく、誰もがホームセンターで手に入れられる素材の物性と構造的な配置のみで、空間の密度を形成することを試みました。ガルバリウム鋼板を円筒状に巻き、自立するオブジェとして設置し、コンクリートとレイヤー状に構成することで、金属の冷たさとコンクリートの粗い質感が対比されるようにしています。工業的で無機質な素材の組み合わせは、かえってジュエリーの繊細さと精度をより一層際立たせます。また、施工期間が短いポップアップの特性を踏まえ、構造そのものがひとつのアートピースとして機能するよう設計しました。
本プロジェクトは、日常的な素材が文脈によっていかに異なる表情を持ち得るか、そして制限された条件下においても空間は十分に洗練され得るという可能性を提示しています。
English / This project focuses on the “attitude of materials.” Rather than relying on special finishes or expensive materials, we sought to create spatial density using only the inherent properties and structural arrangement of materials that anyone can easily obtain at a home improvement store. Galvalume steel sheets were rolled into cylindrical forms and installed as self-standing objects. Layered with concrete, the composition creates a contrast between the coldness of metal and the rough texture of concrete. The industrial and impersonal combination of materials, in turn, further highlights the delicacy and precision of the jewelry. Considering the short construction period typical of pop-up spaces, the structure itself was designed to function as a single art piece. This project proposes the possibility that everyday materials can take on entirely different expressions depending on context—and that even under limited conditions, a space can achieve a refined presence.
한국어 / 본 프로젝트는 ‘재료의 태도’에 초점을 맞추었습니다. 특별한 마감이나 고가의 소재에 의존하기보다, 누구나 홈센터에서 구할 수 있는 재료의 물성과 구조적 배치만으로 공간의 밀도를 형성하고자 했습니다.갈바리움 강판을 원통 형태로 말아 자립하는 오브제로 설치하고, 콘크리트와 레이어 구조로 구성함으로써 금속의 차가움과 콘크리트의 거친 질감이 대비되도록 했습니다. 공업적이고 무기질적인 소재의 조합은 오히려 주얼리의 섬세함과 정밀함을 더욱 선명하게 부각시킵니다. 또한 시공 기간이 짧은 팝업의 특성을 고려하여, 구조 자체가 하나의 아트피스로 기능하도록 설계했습니다.이 프로젝트는 일상적인 재료가 맥락에 따라 얼마나 다른 표정을 가질 수 있는지, 그리고 제한된 조건 속에서도 공간은 충분히 세련될 수 있다는 가능성을 제시합니다.
